The Blackbird Festival or BB FEST is the combination of a Youth Conference, Facilitated Workshops, and a Fun Filled Festival with FOOD, MUSIC, ENTERTAINMENT and ACTIVITIES!! Volunteer Facilitators have been hand selected specifically for their DYNAMIC presentations and ability to interactively engage young people in their areas of expertise. And not for nothing…. IT’S FREE for all our Youth Attendees.
In the past the workshops have gone from Zumba , Photography, Art, College prep, Civil Court, Entertainment, Flag Football and so many more Fun filled and interactive events. This year we are increasing the number of facilitators as well as doubling down on our workshops so NO ONE misses a workshop because of scheduling conflicts.
The day is injected with a shot of adrenaline in the form of PERFORMANCES and FOOD, Games and Prizes. There is CONSTANT activity and so many opportunities to learn and connect with the young ladies in attendance.
Day one begins at 10:00 am sharp! With our sign in and opening remarks by the event founder Artina “QPDoll” Sharpton and Kim “NYOIL” Sharpton. If you’re going to be attending you want to make sure you sign in and confirm your presence. Inclusion in the ball is contingent upon your attendance of the BB FEST as well as receipt of your SWAGBAG!!
A list of all the workshops for the day will be handed out and the workshops will begin promptly at 11:00 am and the party won’t stop until 7 pm that night.
See after 7 pm the doors close.. because you’ve got to get your beauty rest… You’ll need all you can get for the Blackbird Fly Gala Ball (Day 2) cause it’s about to go DOWN.
