…and this is why I am Blackbird Fly!
**NOTE: You do NOT HAVE TO enter the poetry contest to be a part of BBF2012. This is just another event and part of BBF2012.**
The Blackbird Fly 2012 poetry contest is exclusively for our attendees (on both days) with three age categories 10 – 13, 14-17, and 18 – 21 with one prize given out per category.
The poem should be roughly 10 lines (in standard Word document 12 pt font) explaining why YOU ARE BLACKBIRD FLY! Your poem MUST END WITH THE PHRASE “and this is why I’m Blackbird Fly”
eg: I sing where no songs are heard, and dance to the beat of my hearts drum. I soar with no wings and the clouds envy me. All things are possible in my minds eyes, my perception is my reality. In my world nothing is impossible, I’m unstoppable. I faced adversity and did more thank survive… I live and continue to live until the day I should die. Eye know I… and this is why I’m Blackbird Fly
As you see the poem doesn’t have to be 10 lines. It can be shorter but the length must be no more than 10 lines.
The rules are as follows
- Must be written by attendee
- Must be no more than 10 lines (12 pt font)
- Must end with the phrase “and this is why I’m Blackbird Fly”
- Must be submitted by Feb 16th 2012
